At Swiss Days Istanbul 2022, the leading economists and academics from Switzerland and Türkiye participated in the XVI. “Swiss- Turkish Economic Forum” under the slogan A Green Economy in a Blue World”.

The Consulate General of Switzerland in Istanbul, the Swiss Business Hub Türkiye and the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye organised the Swiss Days Istanbul 2022 at Yapı Kredi bomontiada between 23-25 September 2022.

Swiss Days Istanbul 2022 was organized under the theme of “Designing a Green Future” in order to promote Switzerland and Swiss companies and brands with a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation after the pandemic period.

Organized with the slogan of “A Green Economy in a Blue World”, the 16th “Swiss-Turkish Economic Forum” was held at Yapı Kredi bomontiada on September 23, 2022. All aspects of the green economy transformation was discussed at the Economic Forum, which was attended by leading experts from the private sector, academy and civil society from Switzerland and Türkiye.

Ambassador of Switzerland to Türkiye H.E Jean-Daniel Ruch and President of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Türkiye Arpat Şenocak welcomed the guests with their opening speeches. The keynote speeches was virtually attended by Markus Reubi, Swiss Delegate for the Agenda 2030, Deputy Head of Division, Prosperity and Sustainability Division. The keynote speaker of the Forum, Stephan Sicars, Director of Division of Circular Economy and Environmental Protection Directorate of Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development UNIDO, shared his insights on “A Green Economy in a Blue World” virtually.

After the main speech, Zurich Insurance Group Türkiye CEO Yılmaz Yıldız, moderated the panel, in which Kadir Has University Professor of Economics and Dean Prof.Dr. A. Erinç Yeldan, Deputy Secretary General of TÜSİAD Dr. Nurşen Numanoğlu, Oris Regional Director Marco Gemperli, Executive Director of Business Council for Sustainable Development Türkiye Konca Çalkıvik, and Former Chairman and Board Member of the Turkish Marine Protection Association (TURMEPA) Tezcan Yaramancı discussed the future of our planet. The forum ended with the closing speech by Ariane Tinner, Head of Economic and Cultural Affairs, Counsellor, Embassy of Switzerland in Türkiye.
