Dr. Mónica Menéndez joined the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich as the Director of the Research Group “Traffic Engineering” in October 2010. Prior to that, she was a Management Consultant at Bain & Company’s San Francisco office. She joined Bain after receiving a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2006. During her studies at UC Berkeley she received, among other awards, an “NSF Fellowship” in 2002, the “Gordon F. Newell Award” in 2006, and the “Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award” in 2006. Dr. Menendez also holds a dual degree in Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering from the University of Miami, from where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002. Her research interests include traffic flow theory and operations, sustainable transportation, and logistics.
Berrin Benli has BSc degree of Computer Engineering from METU (Middle East Technical University) in 1986. She has been student of University of Phoenix, Arizona (Exec.MBA, Global Management Program) in 2005. She is the co-founder of “NOVUSENS – Innovation and Entrepreneurship Institute” which is the 1st “Think Tank” organization of Turkey specialized in Science, Technology and Innovation is independent and for-profit that delivers professional services on innovation and entrepreneurship to foster “sustainable development”. Berrin has established “Big Data Institute” of NOVUSENS in 2013 and “Smart City Institute” of NOVUSENS in 2014 to support ICT Innovation field. She is also the co-founder of “IDE Consulting” which delivers professional ICT services on high-tech industries.

The luncheon addresses owners, board members, corporate management such as CEO, COO, CTO, CSO and other decision-makers of small-, medium-sized and large companies operating urban solutions and development activities. The speeches will be in English. There will be no translation services.
